Business Class Flights To Guangzhou, China

One of China’s three largest cities by population, Guangzhou is located on the country’s southeastern coast, about 75 miles northwest of the island of Hong Kong and 90 miles north of the city of Macau. The Pearl River flows through the city, which along with its coastal location has made Guangzhou an important Chinese port for more than 2,000 years.

 

Flights to Guangzhou arrive at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN), which is the main international airport for the Guangzhou region and the largest airport in southern China. The Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport serves as a hub for China Southern Airlines, 9 Air, Hainan Airlines, and Shenzhen Airlines. It is among the busiest airports in the world with more than 40 million passengers passing through it in 2021. Because of Guangzhou’s status as a major Chinese port, the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is also one of the world’s busiest in terms of cargo traffic.

 

Passengers arriving on flights to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport will find ground transportation into the city via express bus service, the Guangzhou Metro, or by private taxi.

 

Travelers who purchase plane tickets to Guangzhou often come to the city for business reasons. Guangzhou is one of the largest financial hubs in the Asia Pacific region. It is also a major global center for scientific research and technology. Due to it being a major Chinese port, Guangzhou is also a global center for manufacturing. The city is home to one of the largest manufacturing regions in China.

 

Several industries operate manufacturing facilities in Guangzhou including auto manufacturers, biotechnology firms and pharmaceutical companies, electronics manufacturers, recycling firms, manufacturers of clothing and footwear, and makers of raw materials such as steel and petroleum products. Among its heavy business travel, many visitors book business-class flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Guangzhou and San Francisco (SFO) to Guangzhou.

The Guangzhou region is one of the largest centers for higher education in China. Most visitors to the city are looking to visit at least a few of Guangzhou’s eight most notable landmarks, sometimes referred to as the “Eight Views.” Among the eight is the 1,982-foot-tall Caton Tower, a television and communications tower built in 2009, which is home to a popular observation deck. The Eight Views also include the nearby Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area; Liwan Lake; the Nansha Wetlands Park; and the city’s central business district also known as the Zhujiang New Town.

 

Because Guangzhou’s history dates back more than 2,000 years, the city is also home to several historical sites. These include The Temple of the Six Banyan Trees, a Buddhist temple built in the 6th century CE; Guangxiao Temple, one of the oldest Buddhist temples in China, which dates back to the early 3rd century; and Sanyuan Palace, a Taoist temple that is nearly 1,600 years old.

 

Many visitors also book flights to Guangzhou to shop. The city is home to more than 20 malls and shopping centers, many of which are located in the city’s iconic skyscrapers. Among the largest of the city’s malls is the Grandview Mall, which has a large aquarium known as The Ocean World on its 6th floor. Shopping is also available in the city’s pedestrian squares and streets. Huacheng Square, the city’s largest pedestrian shopping area, is more than 22 square miles in size.
